Two Souls, One Sanctuary Q&A With Alaine

Q: What inspired Two Souls, One Sanctuary?

A: It came from seeing how many women booked treatments for their mums, aunties, sisters, daughters… and the same story kept happening:

“I wish we could have come together.”“We never get time to do anything just the two of us.”

Or they’d book two appointments back-to-back and spend their time hovering around, waiting for their turn. I just kept thinking — this would be so much nicer if they could rest at the same time.I didn’t have the space before, so when The Bothy came along, this was the first ritual I knew I wanted to create.

Q: What do you want women to feel in the first five minutes of arriving?

A: I want them to feel instantly looked after — genuinely cared for. Almost like I’m there just for them, and they don’t need to do a single thing except arrive, sit, breathe, and let themselves be spoiled a little. I want the vibe to feel homely, cosy, warm… like the kind of place where you naturally exhale. Just comfort and ease.

Q: What do you think women are carrying when they arrive together?

A: Usually a really strong bond that hasn’t had any time or space poured into it for a while. Life gets busy. Everyone’s juggling something. So when they arrive, they’re often carrying months — sometimes years — of “we should catch up properly.”And then they sit down and it’s the first time in ages they chat without kids shouting, phones pinging or dinner needing to be made. It’s a breather for both of them.

Q: What do you want the experiance to feel like for your guests?

A: Warmth, safety, and “you can let go now.” I want the space to feel like a home-from-home — not a salon, not a spa, not a place where you feel you have to sit nicely and behave. Just… comfort. A room that feels alive and lived in and calming all at once. It takes a while for people to warm to it, but after a while they are re arrainging the furniture and lying on the floor with duvets, falling asleep on the sofa post treatment. I love it !

Q: We know you are amazing at getting women to rest one on one, but what do you love most about two women resting at the same time?

A: The way they naturally slip into being a team again. The chatting, the laughing, the little comments, the softness that comes out when they finally slow down together. You see them supporting each other without even trying. It’s a different kind of closeness — so simple but so meaningful.

Q: What do you wish people understood about the two souls experiance?

A: That it’s not a spa day. It’s not a “book this package, get these add-ons” kind of thing. It’s emotional, it’s grounding, and it’s deeply private. And honestly, most women don’t really understand it until they’ve experienced it — because it’s hard to explain something that works on a deeper level. i cant find the words for it yet. But what I’ve noticed is people tend to book ' Two Souls ' during stressful chapters or after a big emotional time. They come for peace, for connection, and to get away from the world a bit.

Q: Who do you imagine when you think of the perfect pair for this ritual?

A: Me and my mum. She does everything for everyone, especially me and my time with her is precious. I love hearing her stories — things from before I was born, memories about when I was little, and what she hopes to do next. I love getting to know her as a persoan not just my mum. I think lots of women feel that way about someone in their life — they just don’t get enough chances to actually pause and enjoy them. Since loosing my dad its become more importanant to me to create these times for people.

Q: What is the real “medicine” of Two Souls, One Sanctuary?

A: Presence. Not performing, not taking photos, not rushing. Just two women being looked after at the same time, in the same warm space, with treatments that feel meaningful rather than transactional. It strips away all the layers and leaves you with that feeling of, “Oh… this is what we’ve been needing.”

Q: There’s nothing else quite like this in the UK. How do you see Two Souls evolving?

A: I think this is just the beginning. There are plenty of places to have spa days in Harrogate and Yorkshire and im not trying to compete with them. I'm on the Rudding Estate but i dont strive to be a Rudding Park Spa.

I want to take privacy and personal care to the next level, when i did my reasearch your right there is nothing that feels like this — nothing rooted in shared rest, emotional care, nervous-system soothing and the kind of presence women don’t get anywhere else.

I can see it evolving into something even more ritualistic… slower… deeper… almost ceremony-like. More intentional touches, more sensory elements, more ways for women to drop into themselves without feeling rushed. I have some things up my sleve for 2026 but i liek to surprise people.

I think women are craving this — not pampering, not performance, but genuine connection and meaningful time together.
