The Soft Exhale After the Noise

There’s a particular feeling that arrives in the days after Christmas — a quiet, almost heavy sense of the body finally catching up with itself.
The build-up is so intense, so constant, so full of thought and planning and emotional labour, that when it’s all over… the nervous system suddenly exudes a long, overdue exhale.
Even when Christmas is beautiful, it isn’t always restful for women. We hold the emotional temperature of the whole season. We remember the lists, the gifts, the timings, the little details nobody else notices. We carry the atmosphere, the magic-making, the smoothing-over, the smiling-through.
And then the moment the noise settles, the truth arrives in the body. A deep tiredness. A kind of quiet that feels both unfamiliar and necessary. A sense of returning to yourself after weeks of being stretched in ten different directions.
If you’ve felt that — you’re not alone. You’re not doing anything wrong. You’re simply landing.
These days between Christmas and the new year have their own energy.
They invite:
• slow mornings that don’t ask for anything
• leftovers eaten in the exact way you feel like eating them
• staying in pyjamas without justification
• fresh air for clarity, not achievement
• ignoring the house mess because it will wait
• not making plans because you finally don’t have to
It’s the first time in December your body has space to speak — and sometimes what it says is, “Can we just stop for a minute?”
There is a tenderness to this part of the season.
And if you’re longing for grounding, rest, or simply a moment where someone else holds the energy for you, óm Holistic is open for treatments during this quiet in-between.
These sessions always land differently. The world is softer. Your body is more receptive. Your breath drops more easily.Your mind stops gripping so tightly.
If these days are your pause, let them be full. And if your body is whispering that it needs a little more support, you know where I am.
Sending calm and softness,
Alaine x
